Forensic & High Acuity Home Support
Dirigo Support Professionals provides specialized Home Support services for individuals who require a heightened level of structure, supervision, and clinical support to live safely and successfully in the community. This program is designed for individuals with complex behavioral, developmental, and/or forensic needs, including those who have experienced placement disruptions or require a more intensive, structured environment to maintain stability.
Services are highly individualized and driven by each person’s strengths, goals, and desired outcomes. Supports focus on helping individuals acquire, retain, and improve the skills necessary for successful community living, while promoting safety, stability, autonomy, and meaningful daily engagement.
Our homes are staffed 24/7 by trained and compassionate professionals equipped to respond to higher-acuity needs in real time. Direct support staff hold dual certification as both Direct Support Professionals (DSP) and Behavioral Health Professionals (BHP), allowing for the delivery of integrated, skill-based, and behaviorally informed care. Clinical oversight is strengthened through supervisors trained as Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), ensuring consistency in the implementation of behavior support strategies and alignment with evidence-based practices.
Enhanced staffing models, including 3:1 or higher when clinically indicated, provide increased supervision, proactive support, and continuity of care in dynamic or high-risk situations. Services are delivered using a structured, trauma-informed approach that emphasizes predictability, relationship-building, and skill development.
Dirigo collaborates closely with each individual’s interdisciplinary team, including case managers, care coordinators, clinicians, and family members. All services are delivered in alignment with the Person-Centered Service Plan (PCSP) and coordinated with appropriate state partners, including the Office of Aging and Disability Services (OADS) for adults and the Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) for youth.
For adults with high-acuity needs, Dirigo partners with the Developmental Services (DS) Crisis Team to support stabilization, crisis response, and continuity of care. For youth, services may be provided under the Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic, and Treatment (EPSDT) benefit through our contract with OBH, ensuring medically necessary services are delivered in the least restrictive and most appropriate setting.
Support within this program emphasizes maintaining safety and reducing risk, building coping and communication skills, developing independence in daily living, and supporting informed choice, personal growth, and meaningful participation in the community.
Through this approach, Dirigo creates a safe, structured, and dependable environment where individuals can build trust, develop essential skills, and achieve lasting stability within their community.
